Multi-tenant projects—think plazas, office buildings, or medical complexes—are where signage can either shine or turn into chaos. One recent project showed exactly how much difference detailed drawings can make.
The Challenge: Too Many Tenants, Not Enough Clarity
The property owner needed a full signage package:
- Main monument and building ID
- Individual tenant panels
- Directional and parking signage
- Interior wayfinding for shared spaces
The initial concept art looked good, but there were gaps everywhere:
- No clear hierarchy between tenant names and property branding
- Missing mounting details for multiple wall types
- No consistent rules for future tenants being added or changed
Everyone knew what they wanted—but no one could see how it would actually be built and maintained long-term.
Our Approach: Build a System, Not Just Signs
We stepped in to turn the concept into a complete set of drawings. That included:
- A clear sign family and type list
- Scaled details for the monument, wall signs, and parking signage
- Rules for tenant panel sizes, fonts, and placements
- Mounting details based on the actual construction of the walls and footings
We also thought ahead: how will this system handle tenant turnover and rebrands without a full redesign?
The Result: Fewer Questions, Faster Approvals
By the time the drawings went to the fabricator and GC, the usual questions were already answered on paper. That meant:
- Fewer RFIs
- Faster permitting
- No last-minute template changes during install
The owner gained a signage system they could grow with, instead of a one-off solution that would fall apart after the first tenant swap.
This is why we’re obsessed with detail. Good drawings don’t just get a sign built—they protect budgets, schedules, and the long-term look of a property.
